Assessment task details and instructions
You will be given access to the dataset on Blackboard, and you will be asked to analyze all of the interviews using one of the methods of qualitative analysis taught in this module. You will be asked to create a title for your report and to do the following:
- Formulate an appropriate research question for your chosen analysis and for the data set that you will be able to address.
- Provide a justification for your use of method and compare this to the other methods taught on the course.
- Pick one of the four analytic techniques you have been taught during this module (either Thematic Analysis (TA), Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), Discursive Psychology (DP), or Discourse Analysis (DA)) to produce an analysis of the data that address your research question.
Students are expected to adhere to the word count for this assessment. Work that is significantly under the specified word count is indicative of not covering the marking criteria in sufficient depth: work that significantly exceeds the word count is generally indicative of a writing style that is not sufficiently concise for academic writing. If a student does not adhere to the word count, assessors may determine that the task has not been completed in accordance with instructions, and reflect this in the mark awarded. Please see the Assessment and Feedback policy.
