After completing the module, you should be able to:
1. Explain the marketing process, with particular reference marketing audits,
orientation, environmental analysis, marketing planning
2. Distinguish the contribution of the elements of the extended marketing mix to effective marketing planning
3. Use the concepts of segmentation, targeting, and positioning to respond to
marketing problems
4. Apply the marketing mix in selected situations.
5. Show situational awareness when applying the extended marketing mix.
Assignment Task
The level Up restaurant is a new concept in social enterprise based in the UK which employs those at a disadvantage in life whether they are in danger of homelessness, face mental health issues, or are long term unemployed and aims to retrain them to become chefs, bar staff and front of house professionals as well as eventually how to handle purchasing, etc. with a view to enabling trainees to open their own establishment or to take a permanent
position in another organization.
The organization is managed and run by experienced and successful restaurateurs and chefs who are keen to put something back into society. Whilst design and pricing will aim for the middle-upper market with quality fresh locally bought ingredients, this is a not-for-profit venture aiming to plow all revenue back into building the business and helping good causes. The owners are interested in attracting customs from the consumer/business/wedding and conference market amongst others.
