NIE2206: Requires the completion of set exercises undertaken during supervised laboratory sessions and in your own independent study time: Embedded Systems Report, UOH, UK
University | University of Huddersfield (UOH) |
Subject | NIE2206: Embedded Systems |
Learning Outcomes:
Knowledge and Understanding
- Interpret manufacturers’ data sheets to explain and compare the internal architectures of microcontrollers and their associated interfacing design strategies.
Abilities
- Develop software solutions to microcomputer- and microcontroller-based system design problems through the use of appropriate design methods and development tools.
- Develop hardware solutions to microcomputer- or microcontroller-based system design problems.
- Evaluate the performance of microcomputer and microcontroller-based system designs and compare alternative solutions.
Assessment Brief
This assignment requires the completion of set exercises undertaken during supervised laboratory sessions and in your own independent study time.
The completion of indicated laboratory exercises should be evidenced through the provision of completed code listings. In addition, a short commentary for each laboratory must also be provided in which you explain your approach to the code design in conjunction with suitable diagrams e.g. flowcharts where applicable.
The overall word count limit for the commentary is 1000 words. While this equates to approximately 125 words for each of the 8 labs on average, it is expected that the later, more complex, laboratory practicals may benefit from more detailed commentary than the earlier ones.
Because of the word count restrictions, you will be required to make good use of suitable diagrams to support your commentary.
Marking Scheme
Effective completion of set laboratory activity.
Efficiency, structure, and annotation of coded solution.
Quality of the description of the design of a code solution including figures/diagrams
