Person-centred Approaches in Health and Social Care Settings: Guidance Document and Consent Briefing (LCPS)
| Centre | London College of Professional Studies (LCPS) |
| Unit | Person-centred Approaches in Health and Social Care Settings |
| Qualification type | Diploma-level health and social care (RQF-style unit with ACs) |
| Task 1 | Guidance document for new staff – 1,500 words (ACs 1.1–1.4, 2.1–2.3, 4.1–4.3) |
| Task 2 | Briefing report for all staff on consent (ACs 3.1–3.4) |
LCPS learners on this unit write staff guidance on person-centred values, wellbeing and active participation for induction and training, then a briefing report after personal care was given at the setting without the individual’s permission.
Task 1 – Guidance Document
Research and prepare guidance for new staff that:
- defines person-centred values and explains how they underpin health and social care practice;
- explains why care plans are central when applying person-centred values;
- describes factors that contribute to individual wellbeing;
- describes ways to understand individual preferences, wishes and needs, and explains ways to put person-centred values into practice;
- reviews practice in response to an individual’s changing needs or preferences;
- explains the principle of active participation, ways of ensuring it meets individuals’ needs, and how to support an individual to agree how it will be implemented.
Submit one guidance document of 1,500 words, excluding diagrams, references and appendices.
Task 2 – Briefing Report on Consent
Following a recent issue where personal care was carried out without the individual’s permission, prepare a briefing report for all staff addressing the consent criteria of the unit: when an individual might be required to give consent, factors that influence an individual’s capability to consent, how to establish consent for an activity or action, and the steps to take if consent cannot be readily established.
Need help with your person-centred approaches unit?
Centre briefs like this LCPS version turn the unit criteria into workplace products, so assessors expect a usable induction guide and a staff briefing, not two essays. Map every heading to its assessment criterion, use examples from a real care setting, and in the consent briefing cover mental capacity, best-interest decisions and recording. Our health and social care diploma assignment help and academic writing service can review your drafts.
