Unit Aims
This unit introduces learners to reflective practice and the principles of professional development that apply to health and social care management roles, so they can apply them to their own career progression.

Assignment Tasks
Task 1: Personal Development Plan (AC 1.1, 1.2, 1.3)
Evaluate your own practice in a health or social care environment and produce a personal development plan that covers your current skills and learning style, and evaluates how effective the plan is for your progression as a manager.
Submission: 500 words (excluding diagrams, references and appendices).
Task 2: Reflective Essay (AC 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3)
Write a reflective essay on your practice in a health or social care environment. Cover:
- the nature of professional relationships;
- the effectiveness of your personal contributions;
- how you respond to barriers in teamwork;
- approaches to resolving professional conflict;
- promoting and supporting individual rights;
- how to improve your contributions to team working.
Submission: 2,500 words (excluding diagrams, references and appendices).
